We run voyages to France, The Channel Isles and the West Country, although at the current time trips will remain on the UK side of the Channel.
Trips vary in length from 3 day weekend Channel dashes to 7 day cruises, combining real passages and interesting pilotage with visits to pretty harbours along the way.
Your first cross-Channel voyage can be a big hurdle to face and our talented instructors (RYA Yachtmaster examiners and instructors) will show you how to make it a safe and enjoyable experience.
Pilotage through the Channel Isles is challenging and extremely satisfying, with stunning coastal scenery en-route. It provides a great introduction for the less experienced members of crew and a chance to hone skills for those building towards higher skippering qualifications.
The West Country has beautiful scenery and many glorious harbours with a slower pace of life than the often hectic Solent, so cruise here is always fun.
For those trying to amass the mileage and skippering hours required before attempting a Yachtmaster exam, these cruises are ideal. When booking, please let us know your plans and we can ensure that you are nominated to skipper at least one of the longer passages and some of the more complex pilotage too. The instructor will be on board, but, barring necessity, will enable you to skipper the boat.
Complete beginners to sailing would be advised to take a course such as RYA Competent Crew before throwing themselves into a longer cruise as you will find the whole thing much more enjoyable as an active member of the crew. However, only basic knowledge is required and many relative beginners have had a great time and learnt a huge amount about themselves and massively improved their skills on these trips.
